How it works
weather_forecast is keyless: it reads Open-Meteo for daily
forecasts out to sixteen days and hourly out to forty-eight, in metric or
imperial. Like market_data, it registers what it fetched as run
datasets โ <PLACE>-daily and
<PLACE>-hourly โ which render_chart then
references by name instead of the model retyping the numbers.
Its definition carries the chart recipes and a source policy: national weather services first, and never a paywalled page.
What it is good at
| Ask | What you get |
|---|---|
| "weather in Houston tomorrow" | Conditions plus an hourly chart for the day. |
| "will it rain in Berlin on Saturday?" | A direct answer, with the precipitation probability behind it. |
| "10-day forecast for Bangalore" | A daily high/low chart with precipitation. |
| "is the offsite going to be dry?" | The forecast read against the dates, not just restated. |
weather_forecast is declared by the
Travel Desk too, so a trip request can say
what the weather will be at the destination without a second delegation.
