Research method
Procedures, not scripts: how to research a question, judge a source, handle disagreement and write a report a reader can trust.
| Skill | What it does |
|---|---|
web-summarize | Turns a question into a short brief from the open web: two or three varied searches, the primary sources read in full, every claim linked to its source and dated, and a "What I could not confirm" section. |
research-method | The loop a Deep Research researcher follows for one sub-question: plan searches, go broad then narrow, read whole pages, record one note per finding with the exact passage, and stop on purpose. |
source-triage | Which sources to rely on: primary (the organisation that produced the fact) over secondary, dated over undated, content farms as leads at most โ and three articles repeating one press release count as one source. |
contradictions | When good sources disagree: never average, say who says what, explain the gap (definition, period, method, geography) or say it cannot be explained. |
report-writing | The shape of a research report โ summary first, findings by success criterion, where sources disagree, open questions โ with every factual sentence cited and uncertainty visible. |

| Use it for | Questions whose answer changes over time โ prices, releases, regulation โ for any agent that has the web tools. Not when the answer is in the organisation's own knowledge. |

| Kind | Procedure โ instructions only, read with load_skill; the work is the agent's own tool calls |
| Needs tools | web_search, web_fetch |
- If the web tools are missing or not configured, the agent says so rather than answering from memory as if researched.

contradictions
When good sources disagree: never average, say who says what, explain the gap (definition, period, method, geography) or say it cannot be explained.
| Use it for | Carried in the Deep Research writer's instructions; any report-writing agent can use it. |
